Social media is mourning the death of UK model and influencer Rachel Mee — better known as Rachel Kaitlyn — who passed away suddenly before her baby’s first Christmas. She was 25 years old. Her friend Claire Robinson confirmed the “devastating news” in a GoFundMe page set up for the late social media star’s son Kyro.
The Newcastle native, who was also an OnlyFans creator and dancer, was reportedly found dead on December 18, per the post, Jam Press reported. And while a cause of death hasn’t been revealed, Robinson appeared to suggest that Mee had taken her own life.
“Kyro’s mummy Rachel sadly lost her battle with the pressures of this world,” the bereaved buddy wrote, adding that her tot — who was born in March — won’t have his mom for his first Christmas.
“This Christmas will be Kyro’s first, and devastatingly his mummy will not be here,” she lamented. “We are all so saddened with this devastating news, how this world has failed such a beautiful young girl and how she felt she had no other option [than] to no longer be here.”
Robinson added that her deceased pal was “leaving behind her beautiful little boy who she adored with all her heart.”
At the time of her death, Mee boasted over 40,000 followers on Instagram, where she regularly uploaded glamor shots of herself in swimwear.
Robinson said she created the GoFundMe page to “raise some funds for kyro’s future just to take a little stress away from Rachel’s family and to help in some way.”
Meanwhile, a second GoFundMe was set up by friend Chris Coppen to help cover of the cost of Mee’s funeral. “I’ve been asked from the family of Rachel to set a GoFundMe up as there have been so many messages paying respects and asking how they can help,” he wrote.
Bereaved fans flocked to the star’s social media and GoFundMe pages to pay tribute to the late online sensation.
“I did not have the pleasure of meeting you Rachel, but I’ve had the pleasure of hearing wonderful things about you,” wrote one crestfallen GoFundMe contributor. “I feel completely saddened by the news of your passing & my heart aches for your son. RIP you perfect angel.”
“This was such a tragedy,” wrote another. “I feel so much for Rachel’s poor son. RIP Rachel. Heaven has another star shining bright now.”
“Rest easy Rachel,” mourned another. “I admired your strength.”
“If only you knew how much you were loved and admired.”
