Best Bars In West Village

Are you seeking the top bars in New York’s West Village? Then have a look at our top picks here! Because we’ll take you to some of New York’s trendiest speakeasy bars, pubs, wine bars, and tiny venues.

Drift In

In the West Village, The Drift In is one of my most recent new finds in New York: it’s situated on the Hudson River promenade. They serve oysters and the greatest lobster roll in town, which is no surprise given that the Drift In is run by the same people that run my favorite restaurants, PILOT Brooklyn and GRAND BANKS. It’s fantastic.

Hudson Bar and Books

In New York, there are multiple Bar and Books locations, but the one on the Hudson is the best whiskey bar of them all. It has its unique charm and a large assortment of whiskey, scotch, and other spirits. You’ve come to the correct location if you’re seeking a whiskey bar where you can also relax and smoke a cigar.

LELABAR

The wine bar LELABAR is one of our absolute highlights; you can find it in a small street in the West Village. It’s small, cozy, straightforward, and one of the best in the city. It’s a wine bar where locals go for a good wine in the evening.

Skyline Rooftop Bar & Lounge

One of the few rooftop bars in the West Village is the Skyline Rooftop, located on top of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York hotel. It’s only a block from Macy’s and two blocks from Hudson Yards, and the view is spectacular!

STK Downtown & Rooftop

One can find the Rooftop Bar above the STK Downtown Steakhouse. With a delicious cocktail, you can enjoy the fantastic view of the Hudson River and the New York skyline.

The Stonewall Inn

The Stonewall Inn is a homosexual bar and recreational pub in New York City’s West Village/Greenwich Village district. But this isn’t your typical bar. The site of the 1969 riots, which centered on the connection between the police and the LGBTQ community, is now a National Historic Landmark; this sparked the modern LGBT rights movement, which has had a long-term impact.

White Horse Tavern

The White Horse Tavern, built in 1880 and still operating today, became famous because it frequented writers, poets, and artists such as Dylan Thomas. Dylan Thomas is supposed to have had his final drink at the White Horse Tavern before passing away at the Chelsea Hotel.

Even now, paintings of Thomas adorn the walls of the restaurant, reminding patrons of their famous visitor. This tavern is one of New York’s ten oldest, and it has physically weathered the passage of time.
