Lower Manhattan is characterized by Wall Street, The Seaport, innumerable banks, and towering buildings. El Vez New York, our favorite Mexican restaurant in Lower Manhattan, also comes to mind.
The ambiance of El Vez is really realistic, and the design complements it perfectly. When you walk in, you know that the cuisine must be delicious. They certainly do not disappoint! The menu features a variety of traditional Mexican dishes and drinks, including their renowned margaritas. El Vez provides a weekend brunch menu from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Their menu features a variety of conventional breakfast foods as well as those with Mexican influences.
We recommend making reservations at El Vez if you have a large party or want to be seated as promptly as possible.
After-Work Cocktail At New York’s El Vez
El Vez is a pleasant place to enjoy a drink. No tourists from afar, and beginning around 6 p.m., the bar is packed with New York business people enjoying an after-work beverage with friends/colleagues.
In the warmer months, you may also enjoy sitting outside. Additionally, El Vez is a good option if you are searching for a spot to seat a large group. Just make sure to contact ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.
Drinks we suggest:
- Class El Vez Margarita

- Roja Sangria
The quantities at the El Vez restaurant in Lower Manhattan are generous, and the pricing ($15 for entrées) is reasonable. Be sure to order the city’s best chips and guacamole (from $16) prior to your main dish.

Overall, we adored El Vez – a genuine Mexican restaurant with excellent service – the server was really attentive, and we all enjoyed our drinks! We will absolutely return!
