Best Pizza Places In Astoria

The Astoria neighborhood is one of my favorites in New York. A true melting pot, Astoria is located in Queens’ western region and is home to diverse cultures, including Greek, Italian, Asian, and more. There are several attractions around the city, including Bohemian Hall, the oldest beer garden in the U.S, and Socrates Sculpture Park.

Mostly residential and middle class, this area has a strong sense of community and a long tradition of good food. For decades, pizza has been a popular choice, and the area has several excellent places to enjoy it.

Best Pizza Astoria

Whatever you’re in the mood for, whether it’s Margherita, Neapolitan or traditional NY style, you can find it in Astoria. Here are the best pizza places in Astoria!

Basil Brick Oven Pizza

A few blocks southeast of Astoria Park, Basil Brick Oven Pizza is located at 27th Street. A hip, wood-fired pizzeria and Italian restaurant with an inviting atmosphere. Their food is freshly prepared on the premises.

A wood-burning oven in the restaurant cooks the individual 12” pizzas on-site. Their menu features a variety of pizzas, including Margheritas, marinaras, and specialty pizzas.

If you’re looking for an experience you’ve probably never had, we recommend the pizzucca, which uses a herb-walnut sauce instead of the traditional tomato.

Milkflower

In Queens, Milkflower is operated by the Aggelato brothers, who learned the craft of pizza-making from their uncle in New Jersey.

Milkflower is located between 31st Avenue between 34th and 35th Street, just a few blocks north of the Queens Library’s Broadway branch. The restaurant is a cozy spot, good for a romantic evening or a small group of friends.

The wood-fired pizza at this pizza parlor is one of the best in the neighborhood. Even though you cannot build your own pie, you have many specialty pies. One of their best pizzas is the Marky Marc, which has olives and Fresno chili, and the Wu-Tang Clam, which has cherrystone clams and garlic.

Rizzo’s Pizza

Rizzo’s Pizza has been a neighborhood institution for generations. Originally opened by brothers Joseph and Salvatore Rizzo in 1959, it has been a local favorite for decades.

This pizza place is near William C. Bryant High School at 30th Avenue and Steinway Street. A few tables, friendly staff, and local sports on the TV make this a great place to dine.

Square-shaped thin-crust pizzas are their specialty. Create your pizza or pick from one of their customized options. If you don’t want one of their signature square pies, you can also order classic circular pies.

Krave It

If you like cheese, you will love Krave It. Apart from some of the cheesiest pizzas in NYC, Krave It also serves pesto grilled cheese pizza and sandwiches. Calorie counting might not be encouraged here, but you will be satisfied with their unique and delicious offerings!

Conclusion

Astoria is full of great places, making it hard to pick a favorite. If you’re looking for a place that serves up authentic Neapolitan pizza, you can choose from various small spots or upscale places. You’re sure to find someplace to accommodate any occasion, whether it’s family night, date night, or any other event.
