What Can You Buy With Food Stamps In New York?

If you’re a resident in New York, what can YOU buy with food stamps?

The state of New York has some great deals for residents who use this welfare program. If your income is below the federal poverty level and has been approved as eligible by one or more social security numbers then there’s no limit on how much money those freebies will get! Groceries at farmers’ markets are also offered at discounted prices-and where else could we find organic produce cheaper than that?!

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has strict rules and regulations in place to ensure that you are using your benefit correctly. Allowing foods outside of these guidelines can result in losing eligibility for the program, so be sure not to make a mistake.

Foods that are covered by food stamps include:

·        Seeds and plants that will produce food for the household

·        Soft drinks

·        Pumpkins that are edible

·        Ice cream

Items and consumables that are not covered by food stamps include:

Food stamps can be used to buy groceries, snacks, and seeds or plants to produce food.
